Ask for used tanks at your local pet store
Thrift Stores and 2nd hand shops
Local supersavers ads in newspaper
Local want-ads
Check around on bulk pick-up or garbage days, you can sometimes find great stuff on the side oof the road for free!
garage sales…walmart has 10 gal tank only $10.00 at garage sales 10 gal for about $2.00make sure it is not cracked and looks like it dont leak…..you can put silicone on seams of used tank not expensive to do…..
“Cheap” is relative. If “cheap” to you means around twenty dollars, wait for a sale at a store. Otherwise, try hitting yard sales, your local want ads (including the thrifty nickel if your area has it), flea markets, and talking to all your friends to see if they might know someone who has one for sale.
I once found a forty gallon fishtank in perfectly good condition for five dollars; it just needed to be cleaned, and I bought a new filter and heater for it. It’s not going to be an easy find, but if you do end up finding one, you’ll save a bundle.
