Turn off the heater, no fish lives in water above 83 degrees Fahrenheit, and you only go that high when your fish are sick to maybe kill of bacteria. You need to lower water temp. Take a sandwich bag fill it with ice and let it float in your tank. Or take tap water put it in a sandwich bag and make a block of ice and float it, the bag too, in the tank. Just make sure that the melting ice does not get into the tank water unless you want to treat the water with a dechlorinizer before you freeze, and float it.
Your fish will die if you don’t do this. For more help email me dot com

try putting some ice cubes in a plastic bag and try floating them in the tank, and turn the heater off…

Yes, thats a bit warm and will stress your fish and lower the oxygen level in the tank. Warm water cannot hold as much Oxygen as cold water.

The heater will have switched itself off at that temperature anyway.

Turn off the tank lights during the warmest part of the day, they also heat the water.

If you can arrange a fan to blow across the top of the water it will cause evaporation and cool the tank a little. You will need to top up the tank more, but thats a minor problem.

Freeze some water in old drink bottles and float one or two in the tank to reduce the temperature.

If you can keep the tank down below about 30C (86F) it will be better for your fish.
